Last night I went to Family Fun Night at P’s school. It’s always been a “You’re not one of us” attitude I’ve encountered while living in the sticks. One mother (also not a native) ran up to me, cooing over my “replica” sweater & how much she also respected the woman who wore it in the 80s.
In a building full of Carhartt, camo & thin blue liners, be a Diana. Someone will notice. #momlife
@bethbjammin I can relate. I often wear something with a subtle ph/dead reference to such events just in case there is another lost head in the sea of normies. Not many of us around these parts, so I have to make an effort to connect, which isn't my natural inclination as an introvert.
@bethbjammin also why I appreciate this Masto community
@BEK97 I wore Ben & Jerry’s merch to the first PTA meeting. Gets the point across subtly.
I like stealth Ph/Dead gear too. One of my fave t-shirts just says “Real Outcasty” IYKYK. Always looking for another happy soul lost in the sea of red
