At approximately 6:12pm, Orange Line train 918 heading towards Vienna struck a metal object around East Falls Church. The metal appears to be fencing which may have been broken off by the wind.

Orange/Silver service remains suspended on either side of the station.

Developer tries to strong-arm WMATA into paying for deferred maintenance on their private roads because busses drive over them.

WMATA says "bet" and removes eight convenient bus stops from their development that currently serve 150 residents a day and have been around for 50 years.

A #WMATA de-icer train experienced an "undesired uncoupling" in New Carrollton Yard this afternoon .Two cars of the 6-car train separated from the rest of the train at appx 5pm. There are no known injuries, and no known impact to rail service.

#WMSC says that #WMATA can restore automated train operations on the Red Line.
