@jensclasen

Jens,

The tariffs are a world economy destabilisation, aimed at invading Canada, as well as destabilising and subverting, Europe, and to support the Russian dictator.

Tariffs are also a HUGE tax on the American people, they will crush the economy, stealing wages, while giving trillions to Billionaires.

The dictator(s) make(s) us allies, because it makes us all victims.

#trump is putting #tarrifs on #venezuela now which is just gonna make all gas in the #usa MORE EXPENSIVE as they are a huge exporter of oil and natural gas to the USA and other places. It's also going to hurt them as that is one of their primary natural resources they export.

I am getting tired of these tantrum tariffs. Pretty sure they only happened cuz he was told he couldn't randomly send 200 unproven gang members to El Salvador.

Well, the effects of tariffs are already happening.

I’ve been eyeing this Chinese made mini electric loader which is built per-spec and imported by a small business. A few weeks ago it was $13K. Now it’s almost $16K.

These tariffs are dumb. There are no American made equivalents, and while I could MAYBE afford $13K, I most certainly cannot afford to drop $60K on a much larger entry-level diesel Bobcat.

That is what you get with the unreasonable and aggressive
approach of Trump and his cronies... people will walk away from anything American... and rightfully so.

@glynmoody

It’s worth adding that in fact, Ford’s big announcement comes to chump change. We provide top-up, not all those states’ power, and the current rate we charge is dirt cheap.

CBC breathlessly reports of $300k per day impact.

Well, $300k/day ≈ $100M/yr which amounts to a handful of dust vs. the billions in other trade already hit with tarrifs.

All this so Ford could puff up to look ‘strong’ like his ‘100 percent’ BFF Trump.

As expected…

Canada now a ‘security threat’ to Trump’s planned destruction of America and both our economies, thanks to Doug Ford’s intemperate posturing.

Have a go-bag ready.

Know your escape routes.

Review your resistance literature.

‘Trump also reveals that he will soon declare “a National Emergency on Electricity within the threatened area”, to allow the US to quickly act and “alleviate this abusive threat from Canada.”’
