Got a teeny bit lost to start (typical). Had to break trail the entire way. Lost a glove, but passing skier found it (thank goodness). Got tired, called it about 1/3 of the way up. Old bones and all.
Winter vacation.
Younger me liked to say, follow your heart. Older me loves to say, lead with your heart. Believe in yourself, big change is coming.
Been exciting to see so much momentum growing in the fediverse embracing the opportunity to create "public social media".
Happy #mountainmonday Sharing a few photos from last Monday #splitboarding Mt Ellinor. Was going to head to #MtRainier last week but it was closed mid week. Hope thats not a new budget cut. A lot challenges ahead, stay positive theres gonna be a real needed opportunity to show support, lead and share what you know. #NationalPark #nationalforest #natureheals #support #leadership #opportunity
Looking back through 2024 pictures, realizing I had to break up with some old paths in order to get closer with new bigger opportunities. Reflecting from a couple of favorite mountain experiences this past year in Canada & Oregon. It was a pretty strange year for me personally working through some adversity, had some pretty low moments and hit some high notes too. Overall leaving 2024 better off than how it started. Feeling really optimistic & creating space for positivity ahead. Despite some cultural/political challenges unfolding, sensing this as an opportunity to lead, be a better person and navigate these stormy times more effectively by connecting with more like minded people. Hear hear, to living better in the new year!
Still a little thwacky down low. Might be a bit too optimistic for November snow but scouting the mountains many times through out the season is the best way to learn them.
Sharing a couple of shots from today's splitboard adventures. Caught a moment of calm before the next round of bomb cyclone arrives. Winter is here!
Sharing some big mountain vibrations. You ever reach a view that is so beautiful you cant stop taking pictures? This was that moment for me, catching the last rays of daylight. Since it was quite cold the group I was with didn't stick around long. I have a hard time leaving these places, especially knowing how rare it'll be to ever return again. If you zoom in you can see some mighty glaciers deep within the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Grateful to be able to share such a memory.
Wew survived the first day of the season. Visibility was low, snowpack thin but the stoke was high! Thankful I had my buddies tracks to follow; the snow was pretty sticky and a legit reminder why you should wax your board. This storm is only half way over. Too early to call total snowfalls but possibly around 3ft/1m+. We're going to have water next year!
Looking back & reflecting on some photos of me taken this past year. Im a bit shy and also a privacy advocate so I don't like posting selfies. This past year helped me realize though to make a bigger impact and be more effective at helping more people; one needs to be willing to share themselves. I may explore that further. Feeling we can all do more big things, with less money, by being more efficient with using better technology tools. That philosophy has been influenced quite a bit this past year sharing this online space with you. Thank you for inspiring me.
Tomorrow is the start of my winter season! Excited to step into some new big adventures and learn more good things to share.
Season of turns are just around the corner! Where will the flow go, deciding now what to manifest and how to take action for it.
Wagering if I should travel again this winter or stay more local. Remote work is lined up, bills at a minimum, travel fund secured, where can I be most effective? Shifting my mindset more on systems rather than goals. Just thinking out loud on this #MountainMonday Planning for the next phase.
Reflecting on the calm mornings, accepting the stillness and the peace, can truly be a blessing. Grateful to share moments like this in the mountains. Throwback to the morning I woke up in a snow cave with a view.
This wasn't expected or planned. Simply just embraced.
Loving the blues in this photo. Shot this mid March. Looking back at colder times.
Sharing a recent photo that very likely was the furthest I have ever gone for a photo. Whatever news the day may bring, know we can all go much farther than we think we can. This photo is proof. I have never gone that far, I wasn’t sure if I could or even should and now I share what you put into your mind you can do. Believe in yourself. These are words I need to hear today, this post might be more to me than to you but I truly hope it can resonate with you too. If you have a big idea, don’t hold it in, share it. We have amazing tools built to connect online with amazing people all around the world, let’s support the change we wish to see together.

Did the annual pilgrimage up South Sister and what a beautiful day it turned out to be! People often say after climbing South Sister, "we should've left an hour earlier." Lesson learned after a long beat down from the sun. Truly a great time to be outside, took so many great photos & lots more to share. Here are a few moments from earlier today. #MountainMonday #mountains #southsister #oregon #cascades #snowboarding #splitboarding #cascadia #volcano #photography #outdoors #beauty #turnsallyear
Im getting excited for Oregon Splitfest this weekend! Every year a small plow of splitboarders gets together on Mt Hood for a 2 night camp out on the more remote, North side of the mountain. Its slightly more party than touring but the depth friendships created hold potential to be some of the best one can find. Thankful to have found a community of mountain people to learn from and share adventures together. #splitboardingistheanswer #splitfest #splitboarding #community #mthood #mountains
