Hundreds out again in #FortLauderdale for #TeslaTakedown – the supportive honks are getting more fervent. While walking down the opposite side of the street to record the entire length of the #protest (and carrying a “Honk if you hate Nazis” sign) I even got three verbal honks from people on the sidewalk. If you're in the vicinity, join us next Saturday at 1:30.

#MiamiBeach mayor’s censorship of ‘#NoOtherLand’ is yet another authoritarian move to shield Israel

Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner's call to strip a local movie theater's funding and lease over showing the film "No Other Land" is just the latest #authoritarian example of how the U.S. government is attempting to censor criticism of Israel.

By Nikki Morse and Donna Nevel, March 18, 2025

"Mayor Meiner has now introduced a resolution that, if passed, would revoke local art house movie theater O Cinema’s lease and withdraw more than $40,000 in city grant funding. The resolution is being introduced this week at the Miami Beach City Commission meeting for a vote. Opposition has been fierce, and it is coming from different perspectives. While all those opposing the resolution rightly describe it as anti-democratic, unconstitutional, and a violation of free speech, some of those same people are condemning the movie and even calling it antisemitic. At this moment, we believe that it is crucial for groups in #SouthFlorida fighting for #Palestinian justice to be able to say loudly and firmly that this censorship reflects the City’s anti-Palestinian climate and history that we have been resisting at every opportunity. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it today! I had to remove the diseased guava tree from here. I kept putting kitchen scraps in the empty land. Of course, now that spring is here, weeds are also taking over. However, see this? These are guava plants!!!! Apparently, I left a root or two. There are so many of them here. I love it!!! Let me try transplanting them to other parts of the gardens over the weekend.

:( I can’t delay putting a fence around raised beds anymore. I planted a whole bed of veggies. Everything is gone. Cats, iguanas, and squirrels are interested in digging and eating seedlings. It’s not that they will go hungry, especially my mortal enemies, the iguanas. Arrgh!!! I am left with three or four bokchoy, but who knows how long they will last, too.
