Open Healthware (an @oshwassociation conference) is free to attend, online or in person, this week on Aug. 1-2!
As a preview, I'm interviewing Herine Palacios and Avinash Baskaran on #HacksterCafe, today (Tuesday) at 10:30am Pacific. We'll talk about the schedule, health tech, art, open #robotics, and more!

New article!
We’ve published our official calibration and certification procedure for VisiblAir sensors.
From factory-calibrated PM to outdoor CO₂ calibration (or indoor when it's -20 °C ), it's all explained:

Für @heiseonline habe ich mit den Entwicklern des #openhardware Bluetooth Lautsprechers #MYND von Teufel gesprochen: https://www.heise.de/hintergrund/Die-Entwickler-des-Open-Source-Lautsprechers-Teufel-Mynd-im-Interview-10490607.html #oshw
@nixCraft and the same is true for #OpenHardware too: once I own it, I truly own it and can repair it myself rather than being tied to a service centre that is a sort of organically regulated sneak-subscription
As a bonus, people who make open hardware tend to care about the product, so I'm more likely to get one that's designed to be long-lasting than one that'll become obsolete as soon as the company can come up with a newer reshash of the same product to thrust onto people
Had a great time at @opensuse Conference 2025 in Nuremberg! A highlight was the hands-on workshop by @tropicsquar, showcasing #TROPIC01 — the first open and auditable secure element. A big step for verifiable hardware #security in #Linux systems, edge devices & secure infrastructure.
Thanks to the Tropic Square team for the great session and the devkit

Hey! Stop what you're doing and nominate someone for the OpenUK Open Source Awards!
You can nominate any UK based person, project, or group. Including yourself
We promise a glittering awards ceremony which is free to attend (no pay to play here) and a chance to show off how brilliant the UK's FOSS scene is.
Flopper Ziro is a DIY open source Flipper Zero clone. It's a work in progress, but involves a custom printed circuit board and 3D printed case, combined with off-the-shelf components and software made with Arduino IDE. https://github.com/lraton/FlopperZiro #FlopperZiro #OpenHardware #FlipperZero
My latest blog post: Metronalmost
https://mikecoats.com/metronalmost/
This metronome, by design, will never, ever, tick exactly once per second. This infuriating object is designed to thwart the goals of @hackaday's One Hertz Challenge contest.
