Alois was a German actor and playwright who invented #lithography in 1796. He accidentally discovered that he could make duplicates of his scripts by writing them in greasy crayon on slabs of limestone and printing them with rolled-on ink – a technique he dubbed 'lithography'.
Photolithography, that is at the heart of semiconductor production, was only invented in 1952 though.
