(So only keep reading this, when you have seen Jeanne Dielman) No prejudices, just you and Jeanne and another mysterious (or silent) character: seventies Brussels.  The silence of Jeanne Dielman is the whole atmosphere. She delivered one tour-de-force after another.. this ‘docu’ tops (almost?) all others.  When the word mesmerizing would not have existed, I would have invented it for News from home. Magnetic, honest, imaginative, time document, mother/daughter zoom in, one of a kind, audacious, stylish, a NY hommage, visual and auditive treat… superlatives galore! Thank Akerman’s mother (Natalia) for having Chantal. She was a gift, breathing universal and timeless cinema. People might find News from home boring. Those same people will also dislike Jeanne Dielman. Ignore those people. You
