I'm seeing an increasing number of 'begging' posts on here mostly from the US. They get to me because they append a huge list of tags some of which I follow. I know US health and social care is expensive and some people are in genuine distress but how do you tell which are frauds? #hardship #healthcare #begging #BeggingEconomy

I think the idea of #begging is fine, because unlike other behaviours that trouble readers, it's all about #trust and intent.
I also think #criticism of behaviours is fine. I'm not sure the main reason for the begging matters because if #mastodon ever agree on what we find acceptable, then every begging post will be for that.
I don't think the begging topic is the issue. It's almost entirely about trust I think.
