Completely reformatted my work PC this week and found myself finally getting serious about automating app installs on Windows.
Turns out, Winget is pretty useful:

Got apps installed from all over the place on your Windows PC? Struggle to remember where they all came from and how to update them all? It's time to get organized! I'm sharing a hidden gem that changed how I manage apps – WingetUI
What exactly is WingetUI? It's a super user-friendly way to install, update, and even uninstall Windows apps – right from one spot! No more hunting around or trying to remember where each app came from. But the best part? It's lightning fast

Say goodbye to tedious updates and installs. I made a quick video guide to show you just how simple it is: https://buff.ly/49wqnEV
WingetUI gets rid of the hassle and gives you time back in your day. Ready to streamline your app experience? Give WingetUI a try and let me know what you think!
What other Windows tips or tricks should I cover next?
If you are setting up a new Windows machine and doing that thing of installing all your old software by going to all the sites and downloading installers, don't do that. Instead use WingetUI. So, so good. A huge timesaver. And it's not a horrible app store thing like Microsoft Store, either.

(Yes I know Linux users have had GUI package managers for years. Now folk stuck on Windows have one too, based on WinGet, which is pretty cool)
@DoctorDNS @svrooij @jaykul IMO #winget is good enough for the everyday nerd, but.. there is no but. For more advanced cases, and enterprise use.. it can't really be an alternative to #chocolatey
Best thing ever on windows is winget. You install "app-installer" from the micrsoft store, reboot and open a powershell.
winget upgrade -r
will upgrade a lot of 3rd party software. It's just nice.
The latest A Daily Dose of PowerShell! https://paper.li/doctordns/1580827252?edition_id=49873090-9675-11ed-98b5-fa163eed9ef2 Thanks to @MarcussenThomas@twitter.com @SPGuides@twitter.com @BetaNews@twitter.com #powershell #winget
@JeffHicks what did you expect. The #winget team are really not #powershell advocates and have been resistant to do anything pwsh related from the getgo. I tried hard to give them clues but well. My take is it's a badly designed power toy. I can not see a real need for their product.
