My first live sketching session as a commission! We postponed it for a few Fridays because of the weather but this morning looked doable. It was really cold and windy after an hour on the beach At one point watercolour refused to cooperate and I moved into a coffee shop to get warm and add a few marks while the memory is fresh. Will take a look again tomorrow

Don’t know what took so long! The model is just two years old, very active

This is a local Weatherspoon where I started sketching daily from live back in 2023. I was hesitant to get the sketchbook on the table but it was always quiet in the morning and I slowly grew in confidence. Nice to be back

I joined a local Urban Sketchers group yesterday and after living so long in a place where there was none, it was so nice and refreshing to meet likeminded creative people.

Can't wait for the next meetup...

Also as you can see I chose some very nice urban architecture as a subject with lots of colorful trash cans. It was a blast! (Kind of accidentally inspired others to paint them too. ooops)

The painting in the sketchbooks shows the scene in loose lines and some bright colors highlighting the trash cans. A lady stands at the counter of the building in the sketch, which is long gone in the photo. Where did she go? Why didn't she buy anything? We will never know. But for a short moment she was captured in this loose sketch with no name, a silhouette of a friend, we haven't met yet.
