Sardines swimming in the ocean!

Sardines are small silvery scaled fish. They swim in large schools that can stretch for miles. They are found in almost every area of the world...

This little oil pastel painting of sardines was added to my shop just last week. I'm experimenting with this medium, which I have really only used for landscape and flowers before now.

Spurning Sardines (Limerick)
http://www.madkane.com/humor_blog/2024/11/24/spurning-sardines-limerick/
After learning that today is National Sardines Day, I felt compelled to pen this limerick:
Ok @bonfantimike and @wannabemystiker I got some #sardines and they're pretty good! Tastes a lot like tuna, pretty mild.
The third stop on my sardine journey is Sea Tales handpacked sardines in olive oil with chili. I don't know why, but the US sardines are not as appealing in the can as their Portuguese counterparts. These little guys were previously swimming off the coast of the UK. The fish was firm and noticeably spicy from the chili. No fishy or tin can taste. Overall, very good!
out of 5.

Straight Noms w crackers and cheese.
Bella Sardines in olive oil with peri-peri peppers. Firm, a nice bit of heat from the peppers, great flavor without being "fishy" and zero tin/metal aftertaste.
out of 5.
(It's the first one so I can't just drop a 5 rating out of the gate, but I really liked these.)
I'm a bit late to the whole tinned fish thing. I picked up several to try today, and I'm weirdly excited about popping open a can for lunch. #lunch #food #sardines #photography
My only regret in Greece is that I can't find canned sardines (for whenever I want them canned, that is) without oil. I prefer sardines in water, you see, and they're just not available, surprisingly. The reality is that the described "olive oil" in these cans is probably industrial vegetable oil, since olive oil is extremely expensive these days, even in Greece. Industrial oils are too inflammatory.
Made Mom a nice #noodles #lunch - #FishBalls & #BeefBalls #soup.
My lunch was more simple villager #peasant style. Plain #congee with fried #sardines & #fermented spicy #BeanCurd.

I found these 14-year-old sardines at my parents’ house. Are they still good to eat? https://www.diningandcooking.com/1302819/i-found-these-14-year-old-sardines-at-my-parents-house-are-they-still-good-to-eat/
