Alrighty then. Went on FB for my weekly check-in -- just long enough to firm up plans with a friend (though they have my phone #, whatev), get my niece's new phone number, post some political memes (that won't get seen), and then gave advice to a local about dealing with hydrogen sulfide odors in their pipes. Seems a bit appropriate! How to get rid of sewer smells from the stench of fascism? It might require bleach, but try baking soda, vinegar and hot water first...

It's not clear who is painting the bees, if it's one person or many, or what their motivations are. Some Portlanders are delighted by the latest trend in #StreetArt, others are worried about the cost of cleanup.

So, this may sound really bizarre, but #Hitler used negative magick to achieve his evil aims. After wearing out my original vinyl copy of #WorldParty's #PrivateRevolution, I didn't have to wait long to hear more #SineadOConnor ( #ShuhadaSadaqat ), as her premiere album, #TheLionAndTheCobra came out a few months later! With a little help from her friend, #KarlWallinger !
The next time I heard #SineadOConnor 's (#ShudadaSadaqat 's ) voice was later in 1987, on #WorldParty's premiere album, #PrivateRevolution. Sinead provided backing vocals and helped out with a few songs. #KarlWallinger returned the favor by helping Sinead with her premiere album, The Lion and the Cobra!
On one song in particular, #HawaiianIslandWorld , Sinead provides the haunting vocals of someone being sacrificed -- but to what is she being sacrificed to? Perhaps to the "gods" of #CorporateColonialism!

"By the mid-1980s, the modern environmental movement had fractured into a cornucopia of causes, including #antinukes and #RacialJustice. The music of the day, by and large, did not champion those concerns.
"Enter World Party, the solo project of Welsh musician and producer #KarlWallinger. After a stint playing keyboards [and other instruments] in #TheWaterboys, Wallinger released #PrivateRevolution, World Party’s debut album, in March 1987. Recorded and produced by Wallinger, its ten original songs center on environmental themes, emphasizing personal responsibility. It’s all set to a sound incorporating groovy psychedelic synths with earthy piano and percussion. Wallinger sings and plays all of the instruments, except for saxophone on one track by #AnthonyThistlethwaite (Waterboys) and violin by Steve Wickham (Waterboys and In Tua Nua) on another. Backing vocals are provided by an unknown Irish singer named #SineadOConnor."
