Wow, I love Guitarix + NAM. Really a game changer for... eh... my neighbors. But it sounds good, too!
@alisynthesis @mattly Oh yeah, it is incredible to have them on #linuxaudio.
Speaking of delays, MFM by @uheplugins could be interesting for you as well: https://u-he.com/products/mfm2/
But yeah, Other Desert Cities is pretty amazing and unique: https://www.audiodamage.com/collections/software/products/ad054-other-desert-cities
Too Much Music Podcast – Linux in your Music Studio
Listen or watch below, or follow wherever you get your podcasts!
In this episode, our fearless hosts trace the evolution of digital audio tools from these academic, computationally intensive origins—where concepts like granular synthesis were offline processes—to the real-time, interactive software common today. The

When I use something like an external hard drive or CD-ROM, I have a stable connection whatever I do, moving the computer etc. However, with my external audio interface, only a slight touch to the USB plug causes an abrupt end of connection and the need to reconnect.
Can anybody tell me the connection is so much more fragile in this case?
Music Radar just published "14 of the best plugins and DAWs you can use on Linux": https://www.musicradar.com/music-tech/daws/plugin-week-linux-redux #linuxaudio
This is amazing: Melbourne Instruments ROTO-CONTROL not only has official #bitwigstudio support, but also an official #linux ROTO-SETUP #app. https://www.melbourneinstruments.com/rotocontrol #linuxaudio
I bought a returned Bitwig Connect audio interface at a discounted price and I'm impressed. I mean, the device is great, and also...
How nice it is to have a piece of music hardware that officially supports Linux, that offers a software control panel application that runs natively on Linux, that integrates deeply and out of the box with my DAW on Linux. Oh, and with a manual covering Linux details.
Long live Linux audio!
So I've finally set myself up to be living my best 100% Linux life. That's right: the last Microsoft account has been signed into in this house. Goodbye Xbox, goodbye Windows. Good riddance.
These two devices are the last ones I'll probably ever have that require me to sign in to a Microsoft account. Or surveil me while I'm just trying to write in a text file.
And helloo
Hey #LinuxAudio people -- check out and follow the @linuxaudioplugindevelopment account.
It's a very cool project by @amadeus that needs your love and support!
I am thrilled to share that a new #linuxaudio #plugin #developer #interview is up at https://linuxaudio.dev/linux-audio-developers-spotlight/auburn-sounds.
This time, I had the pleasure to talk to Guillaume Piolat EI from Auburn Sounds, an intriguing vendor of creative audio effect plugins.
As I learned in the interview, Auburn Sounds use their own framework called Dplug, to develop their plugins.
PD: You can find an overview of all the interviews I did so far at https://linuxaudio.dev/linux-audio-developers-spotlight.
Dear #linuxmusician (s), welcome to Linux Audio Plugin Development!
If you haven't read the #linuxaudio #plugin #developer #interview (s) with the lovely folks from ACMT, @audiothing, Audio Assault, Inphonik, Kazrog, Linux Studio Plugins, RV Audio Design, Sinevibes, Sinuslabs, Sononym or TAL Software, feel free to take a look here: https://linuxaudio.dev/linux-audio-developers-spotlight
PD: More interviews with Audio Damage, @uheplugins, Auburn Sounds and Klangfreund are in the making.
I'm about to give up on this #linuxaudio bullshit. I can get my Arturia synth ro record fine in Reaper, but I cannot get the fucking #MIDI input to work properly. I want to record MIDI data, dammit! Jack audio is no help.
Dear #linuxaudio community, I have now created a Mastodon profile for @linuxaudioplugindevelopment.
You are welcome to follow.
I will post future updates on the initiative to this new, dedicated profile.
Okay, I'm switching over to my new @system76 Thelios Mira atm (which is glorious, by the way). I decided to go with Ubuntu Studio. I haven't used KDE in years, and I wasn't convinced right away.
But WOW, there are so many cool features! Here's one of my favorites, which I was delighted to happen upon: you can tell Dolphin (the file GUI) to open a terminal at the bottom of the window, which automatically cd's to wherever you go in the GUI!
I embloggenated about getting mad at your audio stack

One of my all-time favorite plugin makers, Soundtoys, is donating ALL SALES made today or tomorrow to the leading US organization dedicated to the civil rights of LGBTQIA+ people and everyone living with HIV.
Their plugins sound seriously great and are a joy to use. While they're not Linux native (yet!!), I've had good luck running them using Wine and yabridge.
Dear #linuxaudio community. I am in contact with Physical Audio, makers of Tetrad, Preparation, and Modus – a bunch of unique #phisycal #modelling #software #synthesizer #plugin (s) and they are considering bringing them to #linux if there is demand.
So, if you'd like to see those #instrument (s) coming to Linux, please let them know at support21@physicalaudio.co.uk.
