I call BS:

"On an annual basis, this means job displacements peak at between 60,000 and 275,000 jobs a year, which are relatively modest figures compared with the average number of job losses seen over the past decade in the UK (450,000 per year) and even more so relative to the overall labour force (33 million)."

How many jobs were created as result of digitalisation and automation in the last 20 years?

@davdittrich how can both of these be true?

A) lower-ability applicants appear more skilled than they are, placing them in roles demanding higher qualifications

B) LLM-induced improvements in the cover letter do not increase the job-seeker’s likelihood to get invited to an interview

The reality is, whether we like it or not, the world—and most workplaces—are embracing AI. I work in IT Ops and we're rolling out Copilot, ChatGPT & Gemini across our Windows ecosystem. These tools are becoming as normal as email. Schools need to teach AI literacy & prompt skills. It’s not cheating—it’s the new baseline. Resisting it just means falling behind. #AI #EdTech #FutureOfWork

But you know what’s worse than failing?
Not trying at all.

Because if there’s even one person out there who’s also feeling isolated…who’s also feeling like they’ve lost something vital in all this noise…who’s also ready to build something better—then it’s already worth it.

This is the risk.

This is the work.

This is the invitation.

Let’s start over—together.
