It has been forever since I made any videos. Super simple, just some music and title screens and a bit of footage of riding. #finalcutpro #groovy #cycle

iMovie chokes.

Final Cut chokes

Throws the rest out
Putting this out there to my friends on the fediverse- I am at a crossroads for video editing software. I’m past where iMovie does what I need. The question is do I make the huge leap to #davinciresolve or go with what is probably more similar and easy to use with #finalcutpro for my editing needs? Definitely not a professional so I don’t need professional color grading, literally just a couple of lots and some fiddling around with contrast and highlights works well for me. Any thoughts?
Hey for all my #PostChat folks: in Final Cut Pro has anyone ever come across a quick way to zoom the timeline to the selected clip(s)?
Bizarre bug(?) in FCP: dropping a clip into a project that is set to the same resolution and frame rate (1080p/23.98) and the same three frames out of every second are consistently dropped. Almost like one side of the app sees the metadata and plays it back, but the engine fails to render.
Solution? Add an effect, in this case a blur, but set the amount to zero. This forces FCP to re-render the clip, and eliminates the missed frames. WTF.
End of Final Cut Pro X, beginning of Final Cut Pro 11.
Suprised Apple DID NOT switch to subscription model for Mac version.
Oh wow! Multicam Flattener for #FinalCutPro? I need this now!

Apple's professional apps, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Camera, and Logic Pro, have all received major updates. Here's what you need to know.

Today’s playlist is a throwback. This is a cross section of the music I listened to in my high school years (2001-2005). Lots of indie rock, some hip-hop, some classic rock. Probably a lot of weird shit, but who isn’t trying to define themself in their teenage years? Pretty sure I tried to make anime music videos out of at least 3 of these songs.

Apple has released Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and macOS 10.8, featuring faster rendering, ProRes RAW support, AI-driven features, and new organizational tools. The iPad version integrates with the new Final Cut Camera app and supports the Apple Pencil Pro.

Final Cut Pro editors are eating good right now. Update 10.8 added so many amazing, long-awaited features, especially machine learning-based ones. Go check out this video from Dylan Bates covering them:

I’ve just moved servers, so figured I should write a new #introduction post!
I’m Rowan and I run @southpointfilms – a #VideoProduction and #LiveStreaming company based in #Southampton, UK.
I’ve enjoyed using Mastodon to meet people in the same / similar industries (e.g. #PostChat), or who use the same tools (e.g. #FinalCutPro and Apple platforms).
If you’re interested in this sort of technology, and are looking for another unashamed nerd to talk with, let’s connect!
Err, #FinalCutPro, maybe say why?
@davidrevoy @kdenlive
WTF!? Who does things like that?
Asking Qui Bono here makes me suspicious if #Adobe #Premiere or #Apple #FinalCutPro are involved in bad business practices like these?
Anyone using #FinalCutPro on iPad, specifically? Does it have any sort of asset management features? Stuff like bulk/naming a library of files, tagging or other organization, etc?
I'd really like to edit more videos on my #iPadPro but I need _something_ to organize them all besides Files/Finder. #Apple #iPad #VideoEditing
Related? Apple Motion (and FCP, a sibling) only comes in dark mode. I think perhaps Apple corporate has been taken over by the Sith, or maybe I just don’t get artists. Their shading of tabs and colouring of buttons confuses me *every* time. It’s anti-intuitive.
Inactive tabs have the same colouring as the active tab’s working area, while the active tab is darker, as if it is non-active.
If you want to tell me how misguided I am, do not come at me with the “It doesn’t bother me, I got used to it” argument. I will think less of you, or at least remind you that you can expect more from a UI… I know active/inactive buttons and tabs are also differentiated by the colour of the text/icon, but the wrong way. The *active* text should be lighter and easier to read.
