Tip on emergency response kit:
In the setup shown in the previous post you can spot a little point of sale receipt printer.
They don't need any ink. They sip only a tiny amount of power (mine is actually battery or plug powered). You can dump text files to them easily, which is good for message passing during incident response.
Downside of the #hamradio folks here in my county: lots of stress chattering on the #repeaters about their personal experience, with no breaks if there were emergency radio traffic. No net control. #emcomm #earthquake
@ai6yr thanks for helping me get into this hobby and service. #hamradio #emcomm #wavetalkers
#hamradio #emcomm #acs #ares A contact of mine at CalOES tells me they are trying to fill a spot for All-Hazards Communications Unit Leader (COML) course. The course will be held on April 24 – 27 at Ben Clark Training Center 16791 Davis Ave., Riverside, CA, requires ICS 100,200,300,700 and 800 as prerequisites. Ping me if you might fit that profile.
According to DXWorld.net, 28540 MHz (sic!) is the frequency for #emergency traffic following Turkey's major M7.8 #earthquake earlier today.
10cm?! Or should it be 28540 *k*Hz in 10m?
Well, in any case... please keep this frequency clear
