• The World According to Wavelets, Hubbard—easy overview by a non-STEM writer who interviewed all the big names in wavelet research
• The Scientist and Engineer's Guide to Digital Signal Processing, Smith—the gentlest

Bottom line: the more broadly read the student is, the more accessible the subject becomes.

EU’s ETIAS travel authorisation delayed until 2026.

This year, the new Entry/Exit System (EES) for the EU and Schengen Zone will finally be launched. Coupled with this is the introduction of the ETIAS - the European Travel Information and Authorisation System - as part of the EU’s efforts to improve border security.

The ETIAS travel permit has been delayed yet again, however, until late 2026 with a transitional grace period.

EU countries agree phased launch of Entry/Exit System, ending years of delays.

European Union countries agreed on Wednesday to finally bring into force the Entry/Exit System (EES), the bloc's automated registry for short-stay travellers that has been repeatedly delayed over technical problems and lack of preparedness.

The agreement paves the way for a likely start of operations in autumn, though no fixed date has been set.
