Surprised to learn that #change·org is a for-profit corporation!

"It isn’t a charity, it exists to make money and has investors who expect a return.

Giving a profit-making corporation your real name as well as your opinions on a wide range of topics is not a wise idea in the long term."

Dear change.org,

The first screenshot is a deceptive design (the third option, “I only want to hear about this petition’s progress”, is missing, on purpose, to coerce people into signing up for notifications about other petitions by bundling them in with the one they’re supporting).

The second screenshot is just plain old incompetence.

@Paullima I would however the Change.org petition form is, well, rubbish. For one example it rejects my valid email address as 'invalid'.

I've written to #ChangeOrg but they dismissed it as my problem and said to change to a different email address.

I've given up on Change.org. Sorry. 😒

Wie erkläre ich den Menschen weshalb change.org & andere private Petition Onlinedienstleister einfach nur Mist ist? Die sammeln Unmengen an Daten von der UnterschreiberInnen ohne das dies ihnen bewusst ist, auch wenn was Anderes vorgegaukelt wird. Des weiteren sind diese Politisch ungültig 🤔

Ich finde momentan keine Artikel, die dies relativ simpel und klar einem aufdeckt. Evt. die schweizer Situation im Vordergrund 🤷‍♂️
