As a little fun project, I created a new bedside lamp, inspired by the terrariums of James Wong. Got the large vase from Michael's and the driftwood from a petshop. There are the plants - from top to bottom, they are a vanilla orchid, a staghorn fern, and a blonde Boston fern. The latter is planted in akadama.

Aim is to understand the origin and genesis of the soils in order to find analogous soils developed in the #PNW of US.
