Apparently the Trimp regime is deciding to not go with a modern upgrade replacement for the aging fleet of AWACS planes but instead are going for just getting more of the distinctly less capable naval carrier E2 Hawkeye.
WTF?
Did Putin tell them to do this?
This is makes no sense? huuuge US military budget, but skimp on this?

It's important to underscore the US involvement in the massive strikes on civilians in Beirut this past week.

American AWACS aircraft were seen approaching the Lebanese coast and then turning off their transponders right as the dozens of bombing runs began throughout Beirut on the 27th. Airplane spotters suggest these craft were deployed to aid with radar support for the fighter jets and possibly to conduct electronic surveillance of Hezbollah's reaction to the strikes.
