#NowSpinning Bobbi Humphrey - Satin Doll. This #vinyl record came (sealed) as an “also included” item in an eBay purchase. Knew nothing about it. I have since learned it is FANTASTIC. Sounds like a movie soundtrack from a very particular era of 70s cop films. Think flute jams, muscle cars, and a morally lenient plainclothes detective putting that magnetic siren on the roof of his sedan before the big chase scene.

your description reminds me of Donald Byrd’s “Street Lady” which iirc was conceived as a soundtrack to an imaginary crime film
