Had a circuit breaker blow and my rudimentary electrical skills were not enough to diagnose the problem. Electrician came out and wants $1500 to rebuild a panel that was brand new when we bought our home in March.
Homeownership is the best.
@chopaganda Plumbing and electrical I now bring in the experts. Spent many years punching above my weight class building grow rooms. Oh to be young and stupid. Good field to be in eh? What’s labor at? $200/hr?
@Stoneycase I would love to give up my Marketing career to become an electrician. I’m 100% serious. But it’s not something that’s feasible at this stage with all the training and apprenticeships that are required in Colorado.
@chopaganda @Stoneycase I routinely remind my kids that if they don't want to go to college there is a great career to be had in the trades if they are willing to work hard to make it happen
@chopaganda @Stoneycase This. Or becoming a mechanic. Having to bring my car to get fixed by some rando that I always assume is fucking me over is the worst feeling.
@Stoneycase @chopaganda Yeah electrical is one thing I’d never mess with. Risk to reward ratio is just not there. Plumbing the same, unless it’s super minor.
@Divided_Scott @Stoneycase @chopaganda same. I can do a bit of easy plumbing but tbh I hate even that
@chopaganda you can totally do that yourself. Just use 220 or 221...whatever it takes.
@chopaganda exactly!
