Tonight: I think Close Up is my new favorite jazz club. Back tonight for more crazy good young talent. Yvonne Rogers leading a great band, all original material. First time seeing Rogers (on her birthday no less!), will definitely be keeping an eye out. Lots of compositional complexity, heavy listening, and sonic warmth.

Then: late set at Jazz Gallery with Caroline Davis and her aptly-named Portals band. Too much talent in this town. This one did my brain good.
