In honor of 5/5/93's A-R-YouEnjoyMyself's 30th, what is your favorite guest sit in with PH?

That I witnessed, definitely this ARU sit in. But in other 93-stan news my soft-spot favorite is the Flecktones sit in in Utah in August 93. So good.

@Neddyo This is a tough one- much tougher than the worst sit in question.

I wasn't there, but the Santana sit in from Vt. in 1992 (YEM, Llama, Funky Bitch) is in frequent rotation. And you mentioned Bela (11/22/95!), who always fits in perfectly with Phish. Another favorite- Del McCoury band from Oswego '99.

@aRoastia Santana definitely an alltimer for many reasons. Always regret that I *just* missed hitting two of those shows that tour....

@Neddyo That I witnessed? The LeRoi Moore multi-instrument jam at VA Beach in 97, or McCoury, Sam Bush, Ricky Skaggs, and a Judd on 6/22/00.

On tape? I wore out Santana 7/25/92 back in the day.

@Neddyo fav sit-ins that I saw: Neil Young at FarmAid98 and Derek Trucks 7.7.99 for Possum/FB

@Neddyo couple that jump to mind:
I loved Son Seals on Funky Bitch at Oswego.

Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters at Darien '97. Ridiculous.

Sharon Jones at Fest 8.

@ShakedownSax I was just thinking about that Darien Lake show the other day, can't remember why. Definitely the most bizarre!

Sharon ftw, though.

@ShakedownSax @Neddyo forgot about those 2 but definitely up there for best sit ins

@Neddyo sticking with favorite personally seen and leaving out GCH related type stuff, my 3 favs are probably

10.18.94 Flecktones! still the best Llama I've seen
07.21.97 LeRoi Moore
04.10.93 Sugar Blue (though all of his were fun)

@Neddyo

As a bluegrass-head I'm biased, but some favorites are:

7/25/92 Santana

8/21/93 Bela Fleck & the Flecktones (almost the entire second set!)

10/18/94 Pure bluegrass with Bela Fleck on banjo

7/1/99 Jerry Douglas, Ronnie McCoury, Tim O'Brien

6/22/00 Del McCoury Band

@aburtch yeah 8/21/93 was the one I had. Santana a classic.

@Neddyo

in person: 7/7/99 Derek Trucks

on tape: 7/9/97 Flecktones (Pierre!!)

@Neddyo Dicey topic. So many sit-ins aren’t all that but some are great. I have three for you because I just can’t choose.

Béla Fleck & the Flecktones in France - 1997-07-09 is a fun one.
Neil Young @ Farm Aid 1998-10-03 is killer. He really takes the band into his corner.
Bob Weir in Nashville - 2016-10-18… Bobby jams with Phish, sings a Trey ballad, then Grateful Dead songs including a jammy little PITB!
