"Friends don't make friends miserable"

History is not enough to sustain a friendship. That should be obvious, but I spent years maintaining a friendship with a guy who loved Rush Limbaugh, made racist jokes, and constantly called me "a stupid liberal." He was right; I was stupid to stay friends with someone who made me angry all the time. So a few years ago, I blocked his number and I've been much happier now that I have zero interactions with Eric Clapton.
