@mrcompletely You’re probably right. I was New Balance from Famous Footwear for years. Trying to transition to Altra or On Cloud and it’s straight sticker shock.
@Stoneycase it's a ridiculous hustle but once you've had a comfy shoe that also looks good it's hard to go back
@mrcompletely Got two pair of these Altra which I really like because they have the natural shape wider toe box. Little store in Berkeley. Last spring in town for Phish @$80/pr. Same shoes now $140. Must have been a crazy sale. Heading to the NB outlet store rn.
@Stoneycase @mrcompletely Fwiw, I find the new balance, Fresh Foam X series to have the same or more support than Hokas but they cost around $80 vs. $140. Durability might even be better. At least I think it’s a series. Loving my current pair.
@chopaganda @Stoneycase @mrcompletely I am about to order another pair of the NB Fresh Foam X Hierro v7 goretex they have been the best I have found yet for, well, everything. Has been my favorite shoe since I got them ahead of my Peru trip last fall.
@chopaganda @Stoneycase @mrcompletely those are in the $160 range but that is def due to the goretex so you can get into Fresh Foam for a much better price than those
