Is there a UK equivalent of Bruce Springsteen? Would that be Paul Weller or at least the Punk era’s analogous version? Ray Davies/Kinks? I’m not sure if any of these fit..
@LittleTokyo I want to say Shane MacGowan was in the ball park. Popular, gravelly voice, story teller, wrote great songs. Sung about the common man. Walked the folk/rock/traditional genre lines.
@bsletten The Dubliners for Ireland and the whole UK!
@LittleTokyo Billy Bragg? Less popular obv, but…..
@DaveG924 I was thinking that as well but came to the same conclusion but I totally support this option.
@DaveG924 Richard Thompson fits the mold somewhat.
@LittleTokyo If we’re going with strictly acoustic versions, I’d go with Billy Bragg
@LittleTokyo Elvis Costello?
@mrowster Oh yeah, I think this is the winner! Not that it's a competition.
