@Conville obviously the eagles are the vastly superior team to the packers but it's time to get rid of that nonsense.
@mrcompletely my argument...if Brady and Belichek had created this, it would be considered genius, revolutionary, the greatest thing ever, and no way it would ever be banned. Also, if this is so easy to do and kinda like cheating, then why doesn't every single team do it? If every other team were able to do this successfully, no way it would be banned. No way. This is like trying to ban Wilt Chamberlain from dunking just because no one else on the floor could do it.
@Conville I don't think you're accurately remembering how much everyone disliked the Pats by the middle of their run. The reasons to ban it are, it's a drag that dramatically shifts the dynamic of fourth downs, it's boring and would be terrible if it became common, and mostly, it's very unsafe, esp if it becomes an arms race of rugby pileups. Plays like this were a major part of early football, and were banned out of the sport for these reasons - safety plus interest
Eagles don't need it.
@mrcompletely interesting stat from the NFL... Last year quarterback sneaks On 4th and 1 without the tush push we're successful 83% of the time. The Bills and Eagles who are the best at the tush push, used the push successfully 87% of the time. Just a 4% difference, yet I think there's a belief the Eagles have some sort of huge advantage that really doesn't exist in reality. I believe a lot of teams have concluded they can't do it and they can't stop it, therefore it's bad and needs to go.
@Conville now that is interesting!
