Folks. It’s been a rough weekend, with little sleep and lots of scenes reminiscent of The Exorcist. Trust me when I say you do NOT want this. Protect yourself however you can.

Currently I’m treating myself to hazmat care while I look after the infected in my home. 🤮😷🤕🧼

There is a Rökysopp song, “Melody A.M.” that gave me a twinge of sad nostalgia. Not the tune, but the end, where it switches to a recording of a guy calling his friend and telling him some “good frequencies” he’s been messing around with in his DSP music machine. He gets to 400 kHZ and his friend says, “Four hundred!” Yeah. “I’m coming over.” “Do that.” “I’ll be there in a sec.”

Just being able to call a friend and have him come over, with no concern about #Covid — about being infected by #virus that has given millions a life of disability and misery and continues to do so whether you choose to believe it or not. And still having such friends, five years into a #pandemic that has changed people’s brains and mass-delusional behavior.

It’s a lot. We’ve been at this a long time, fellow #CovidIsNotOver people, with no end in sight and the pressure to quit worse than ever. For me, the lulls in between waves are some of the hardest of times.

And yet, we persist. We don’t want this virus in our bodies if we can help it, ever.

Data reported by the CDC last year show that during the 2023-2024 school year, MMR vaccine coverage among US kindergartners fell to 92.7%.

But a new report from healthcare analytics company Truveta suggests that figure is even lower, finding that only 80.4% of US children had received both MMR doses by age 6 in 2024.

Maintaining measles elimination status requires vaccination coverage of 95% or higher.

I may be misremembering this, but seeing all these Margaret #thatcher posts on my feed (yesterday was the anniversary of her death), reminds me of an old Virus/Worm for Microsoft Word, that randomly replaced words in documents with the word 'Thatcher'.

Googling can't seem to help me find the find the details, so maybe I dreamed it? (Pretty sure I didn't).
