I wanna get so into making upcycled clothes and sewing and selling stuff I make more and maybe joining a craft community.

I have about 3 more that are almost done that will go on my ebay soon too. Idk prices at all.

The classic circulation water pumps used in heating systems are just the best for #aquaponics. We have an #upcycled #pump that worked in our house for 20 years. It stopped this morning. I was carrying watering cans from the filter to the plants (aquaponic equivalent of cpr) until we got a replacement, a virtually identical one, the tech haven't changed. We thought the OG pump is dead, we disassembled it and it turned out it was just limescale! There's nothing to break there, this pump can work another 20 years. We removed the scale, added some vaseline and reassembled the pump. It works again like nothing ever happened! It's amazing.

I am nowhere near "halfway" done on this, but today I have the #BuddhaMachine completely wired for sound and two out of four pedals operational: American Metal distortion and an Envelope Filter. So the example is kinda metal. 🤘🏼

The things remaining are a Compressor/Sustain and Digital Delay. I built this so it would be modular, there is a pin-sized patch-bay inside that lets me route the in/out and pedal order.

I can also run an external input into the box and it acts like a big complex guitar pedal, my first sound check was with the tabletop guitar. Sound is coming through my Crate amp under the table, and let me tell you... this is nowhere near as loud as it can get.

This is going exactly as planned and I am so excited it is finally coming together!!

@cobordism @hyc @voxel It's called #mathematics, because #ASIC|s are simply manufactured #eWaste by virtue of being non-reuseable nor upcycle-able.

Your reply indicates that you ain't aware of fundamentals like what an ASIC is, that producing ICs is inherently bad for the envoirment and that these are just bad per concept, thus you've disqualified yourself with the saneist reply from any discussion.

  • I'll give you a timeout of a few days. Feel free to sincerely apologize after that...
berlin.socialAron Fischer (@cobordism@berlin.social)@kkarhan@infosec.space "Whether the PoS transition did save energy is debateable since #Ethereum uses #ASIC|s" can I have some of what you are smoking? Must be strong stuff :D @hyc@mastodon.social @voxel@infosec.space

Treasures from the silk road! These vintage Banjara embellished coin medallions have been given new life as earrings.

I have long been inspired by the rustic metalwork of the nomadic Banjara and Kuchi tribes-- the original masters of creative re-use and colour and texture juxtaposition, using what you have to make something new and beautiful.

I made "upcycled" sweatpants, using 3 hoodies which were damaged and destined for the bin.

The pattern is custom, I drafted it for my measurements. YouTube tutorials helped a lot.

The color blocking is inspired by ThriftyTroutxMedeArt @ Etsy. I added orange accents, next time I'll push the color and details much further!

I'm a messy crafter. In my Witch Town destruction is the mother of creation and chaos is a fertile ground.

My favourite part of doll crafting is this. Not styling or dressing up, but discovering the character, finding its' essence through colours, stiffness, lightness, roughness, flow and I dare to say vibration of the fabric and shiny trinkets. I use pre-loved, unwanted, outworn, broken etc materials to make my dolls. Those materials are donated and sometimes sent to me from across 7 seas. Sometimes the choice is between landfills and my craftroom, between announcing something a trash or it becoming a treasure again. I work with former belongings of those alive and deceased, giving them second life in my dolls. And I think it just adds value to them. It makes them special.

Sometimes it's the materials that lead the way to the finished doll, not my ideas. In that sense I myself as an artist feel more like a door, like gate for these creatures to enter the world, not the god that creates them. It's my job to serve them and find what they need, not make them exactly how I've seen them with my minds' eye. The process of making a doll doesn't happen with empty mental space, this is where inner conversation happen and I dare to call them conversations with dolls. I don't literally hear them talking (I've been asked this, so to be clear...), but that inner conversation happening while I craft helps me to find new perspectives, reminds me of my values, shows me the way, so I dare to say that dolls talk to me, materials reveal secrets and I have a lot of teachers right at my fingers. My only teachers in doll making have been dolls that I make.

Does this make any sense to you or I sound like the lady who has lost her sanity long ago?

Okay I thought this looked stupid af... but then I put a belt on.. better.

This used to be an old air mattress. I cut the material up into panels and cut out to a template and then super glued. I was gonna put on arms but I think that would look terrible and awful

So yeh what do ya think? XD lol

Need some way to stick the collar down so I might just glue it.
