David Johnson (23-35060) in the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit occurred today at the <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/UniversityOfWashington" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UniversityOfWashington</span></a> Law School's Gates Hall</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/8MqA9tQiFyk?si=qFBSB-C-91L5A1l3&amp;t=5569" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/live/8MqA9tQiFyk?s</span><span class="invisible">i=qFBSB-C-91L5A1l3&amp;t=5569</span></a></p><p>We'll find out in some months how it went, but the <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/cyberpiracy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cyberpiracy</span></a> claim trying to define <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Facebook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Facebook</span></a> vanity URLs as falling under the "other domain registration authority" seems to have fallen on unsympathetic (and surprisingly knowledgeable!) ears. </p><p>The <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/ecclesiasticalAbstention" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ecclesiasticalAbstention</span></a> barring of TST's <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/defamation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>defamation</span></a> claim was received better, altho as our lawyer tried to argue, that's partially because the Temple did not bother to hold up any specific statements that were defamatory and instead relied on their complaint being taken as true.</p><p>Again, we have to wait on the actual opinion and see whether the defamation claim's dismissal is upheld, gets kicked back to federal district court, or gets dismissed to be folded into the Temple's currently-stayed state lawsuit against us.</p><p>Moreover, we’re still being sued by <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/TheSatanicTemple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TheSatanicTemple</span></a> in federal appellate court and now King County Superior Court. </p><p><a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/TST" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TST</span></a> is also still suing Newsweek and its reporter (but maybe not her anymore!) for writing about us. In addition, the <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/SatanicTemple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatanicTemple</span></a> is now suing a TikToker in Texas for talking about our case.
