@DeltaWye @SynAck @Kuniti_shino @ErikUden OFC that's the nature of most services tht are open t new users.

 • #Abuse being a statistical inevitability:

#Shitter (rather #Teitter before #Mus ruined it!) had #API #RateLimiting to make #Spamming less effective (255 Statuses per 24hrs) even back when #TweetDeck was a seperate company...

 • Making dynamical limits that instantly lockout i.e. brand new accounts sending the same.message to 10+ others as a DM within 48 hours of registration should act as a speed-bump to #Spammers.

It won't prevent it entirely but make it more cumbersome.

This prevents remediation and correction of #banlists & #blocklists, leaving a lot if domains burned forever as the only.options are "replace" and "merge" and the average #ActivityPub admin or even #User isn't going to learn or setup a #git!

 • which is frustrating as I maintain multiple blocklists to help cleaning up the mess.

I.e. there isn't really a good way to combat #Typosquatting-based #Phishing beyond banning.offending domains...

@FibroJedi it's actually not a #client thing, but a #server thing.

Which is a shame, but then again they refuse to acknowledge problems and instead stonewall users with their nonchalant #TechBro attitude...

So far, GlitchSoc allows way #over9000 characters (AFAICT it's 11.000 on infosec.space & infosec.exchange), and AFAICT it does account for everything - so there's that.

 • But then again Markdown is sleek and efficient as a format so it's not as if you'd be writing #HTML directly and needing all the
blabla
nonsense...

So yeah, I use the "Advanced UI" aka. "Deck" version of the #Web - Interface which is like #TweetDeck but for Mastodon/GlitchSoc and @Tusky / #Tusky on mobile but I do type that stuff like a markdown file by hand...

@sengi_app I just discovered Sengi while searching for a #tweetdeck alternative. It looks very promising but I somehow miss the feature, that it was possible to grant other accounts the permission to post tweets in your name. Is something like this already possible in Sengi or if it is planned? It is a very usefully feature for organizations where you don't what to share your password to all people that should be able to post some content.

In case you missed it, Mastodon has an optional Tweetdeck-style multi-column interface which you can use on a computer or tablet in horizontal mode. Here's how to activate and use it:

Whether you use single column or multi-column is a matter of taste, just posting this to raise awareness that both options are available 👍
