We were in Japan, it was the early 60s, and I was maybe 9 or 10 years old. My brother and I both got transistor radios for Christmas. Transistor radios were a relatively new thing back then. Invented in the late 40s, they became popular in the 50 and 60s. To be sure, you can still buy them, and they've gotten even smaller because the components got smaller.</p><p>" ...
