Jules<p>Something I find fascinating with the increasing understanding and discussion online of <a href="https://social.coop/tags/neurodiversity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>neurodiversity</span></a> is how many people there are out there who hate the burning minty flavour in toothpaste, and how few <a href="https://social.coop/tags/toothpaste" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>toothpaste</span></a> manufacturers seem to have realised this. I thought I was the only one but I've seen it so many times from other accounts over the past couple of years.</p>
Lkdc<p>RFK Jr. has a lot of nutty ideas, but I'm wondering whether he might be right about one thing: fluoride in water. Fluoride is unquestionably good for teeth, and I use toothpaste with fluoride in it every day. However, I'm not aware of any benefits to swallowing fluoride, and fluoride can cause harm when ingested in large doses. Given the wide availability of toothpaste with fluoride, I'm not seeing a good reason to add fluoride to water. I don't see any with fluoride (but I stopped using that years ago), but a lot of them come in metal tins! Brilliant! No more plastic <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/toothpaste" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>toothpaste</span></a> tubes for me!</p>

Anticavity Toothpaste, per the FDA. The type of Paracoccus yeei found can cause infection that may be resistant to <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/antibiotics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>antibiotics</span></a>.</p><p>"An FDA inspector also found 'a black mold-like substance' at the base of a hose reel behind a water storage tank within one foot of stainless-steel pails used to manufacture the toothpaste, according to the letter. John Carlsen 🇺🇸🇳🇱🇪🇺<p>The simple act of buying a tube of <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/toothpaste" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>toothpaste</span></a> has turned into a chore.</p><p>I like <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/TomsOfMaine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TomsOfMaine</span></a> with floride and peppermint oil, which I think started as an early variety, perhaps their first.</p><p>Trader Joe's carried it for a while, then replaced it with a store brand knockoff, which I like less.</p><p>I dislike shopping at <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Safeway" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Safeway</span></a> (which also owns Lucky) for many reasons, including that it's run buy monopolistic religious zealots who have shown some willingness to rip off their customers.</p><p>The big drug store chains with local stores offer an "incentive" to get me to join and use their purchase-tracking programs by offering a lower price if I do, and jacking up the prices otherwise. What they don't seem to realize is that my "next best alternative" to joining their programs isn't paying their higher prices, it's buying what I want through Amazon and saving myself the hell of having to visit their stores at all.</p>
