Just bought tickets to a show at a small local venue. No option to buy them at their box office, forcing me to pay nearly the equivalent of an extra ticket in Ticketmaster fees. Then it turns out the venue does not have Will Call, forcing me to use a Ticketmaster app. No refunds available either of course. This is why I rarely go to concerts anymore. #Ticketmaster has completely sucked the joy out of concert-going.

Just finished watching the #Blur documentary to ‘To the End’ about the journey to their Wembley gig in 2023. Brought back all the memories of an absolutely amazing night.

Then saw latest #Oasis reunion misery. Ticketmaster declaring without disclosing the evidence that some fans are bots and cancelling their tickets. This, after dynamic ticket pricing.

#Ticketmaster curdles music.

The Guardian · Dreams ‘crushed’ as Ticketmaster cancels fans’ Oasis ’25 ticketsBy Nadeem Badshah

Attempting to get tickets to the August #NIN show in Seattle. In the #Ticketmaster queue with 22,437 people ahead of me (down from 24,661 ten minutes ago). According to Wikipedia, Climate Pledge Arena has a concert capacity of 17,200. I'm…less than optimistic at this point.

Admittedly, I have no idea how else to handle selling lots of tickets to a high-demand show (other than going old school and making everyone stand in line to buy them physically), but is this _really_ the best that Ticketmaster (or anyone else) can do?

Holy shit #ticketmaster is a nightmare. Just paid 3x more than I wanted to for Tyler, the Creator tix because their stupid website glitched and by the time I got into the pre-sale all the reasonable tickets were sold out. Sigh. Tyler is my kid’s Taylor Swift though, and I’m an otherwise mediocre dad at best, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

#Canadian #music and #sports fans could soon receive credits in their #Ticketmaster accounts after a settlement was reached in a #ClassActionLawsuit.
The agreement, which still requires court approval, would see credits given to members of the class action who purchased tickets online for Canadian events between Sept. 1, 2015, and June 30, 2018.
