People using abbreviations while texting is commonplace. I wrote a story where the narrator contacts the city to complain. She uses the city’s website. A couple of reviewers wondered why she didn’t phone, instead. The story is based loosely upon a true story where I had a problem with the city and contacted them online. I didn’t even consider calling them up, because I don’t phone anyone when I can instead send a message. Maybe it comes from having worked at a call centre, but I loathe using the phone. Some people have multiple addresses and it's hard to know which one they want me to use for sending personal messages. Plus their phone number! Plus their Discord, Whatsapp, Signal, Slack, Steam, Facebook, Twitter usernames.
