Important milestone for my timecode gizmo: this is the first successful syncing using a cell phone and the Teensy board implementing an USB audio device, plugged as an external mic into the USB-C port. This is important as I'm pivoting my project toward youtubers rather than indy cinematographers who are already using overpriced and counter intuitive SMPTE LTC generators in their workflow 😏

New Question, #NixOS - #Solved

I got the Arduino sorted out, but my Arduino is ancient and was a bit erratic in its detecting, so I wanna try my #Teensy now. conveniently, there is a teensy-udev-rules package, but it is not actually adding anything to /etc/udev/rules.d that I can see.

edit: solved via services.udev.extraRules rather than services.udev.packages, cause that falesauce. See Screenshot/alt text.

Continued thread

Here's the long overdue video for track 5 on my #DAWlessJams1 EP, entitled Werk It (it was my first proper Moog Werkstatt track).

It also features a #Teensy as a serial to USB host MIDI converter, so I could use my JP8000's arpeggiator with the Werkstatt (via an Arturia Beatstep as MIDI to CV converter) and a weird DSP Effects unit from China.

As always, trailer below, full vid+info at

On my wish list is a set of Bass pedals, and I'm slowly building a set on the #teensy platform myself, once I build or organ harvest (haha) the mechanisms.

I did, however, acquire a #Behringer #FCB1010 with 10 stomp switches and two exp pedals that sends #midi and that will do fine for the moment.

It'll be sending notes into the #zynthian and could end up as something other than a triggered note depending on context.

Now, which two chromatic notes are to be my Oliver and Jane?
