craque is icumen in 🏳️‍🌈<p>Newly rearranged modules for a sequencer + synth voice thing. Nothing new here, just cleared out space in this rack case for another row and built it with modules I own.</p><p>And in case you're wondering, yes I did this for the track I'm working on. :)</p><p>This is why I love modular fundamentals and synthdiy - need an instrument? Build one! You cannot do that with a lot of the boutique stuff these days... your "sound" is someone else's.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/craque" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>craque</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/modularsynth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>modularsynth</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/eurorackmodular" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>eurorackmodular</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/synthdiy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>synthdiy</span></a></p>

This will change color as I add more pedals.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/craque" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>craque</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/synthdiy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>synthdiy</span></a></p>

Nice turquoise to go with the box, too!!</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/craque" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>craque</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/synthdiy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>synthdiy</span></a></p>

craque is icumen in 🏳️‍🌈<p>I am nowhere near "halfway" done on this, but today I have the <a href="https://c.im/tags/BuddhaMachine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BuddhaMachine</span></a> completely wired for sound and two out of four pedals operational: American Metal distortion and an Envelope Filter. So the example is kinda metal. 🤘🏼 </p><p>The things remaining are a Compressor/Sustain and Digital Delay. I built this so it would be modular, there is a pin-sized patch-bay inside that lets me route the in/out and pedal order.</p><p>I can also run an external input into the box and it acts like a big complex guitar pedal, my first sound check was with the tabletop guitar. Sound is coming through my Crate amp under the table, and let me tell you... this is nowhere near as loud as it can get.</p><p>This is going exactly as planned and I am so excited it is finally coming together!!</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/SynthDIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SynthDIY</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/DroneMachine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DroneMachine</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Upcycled" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Upcycled</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/craque" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>craque</span></a></p>
craque is icumen in 🏳️‍🌈<p>The drone box got some jacks this past weekend and I am getting ready to wire up the next pedal inside.</p><p>The knobs in this arrangement are grouped by device, so each separation of color is a different one being controlled. I think I don't like this as much as alternating, because you lose the sense of it being a circle, which it is, but the color arrangement makes it look like it has sides.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/SynthDIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SynthDIY</span></a></p>
gnd<p>This is what I've been up to for the past months. RDRPT is a feedback looper, inspired by no-input mixing techniques and harsh noise. It's intense, chaotic and unforgiving. gnd<p>Hi Merveilles, thanks for having me :)</p><p>I enjoy making music and noise, as well as putting together contraptions that help me with that: analog pedals and synths, a little bit of software.</p><p>Recently I've been trying to explore atonal and noise elements in music, improve my sound design chops and look for unusual movie soundtracks. Tod Kurt (todbot)<p>For the last month or so I've been working on seeing how far I can push CircuitPython into emulating a TB-303 bass synth. With the new audiofilters library, you can "stack" filters to make two two-pole filters seem like a 4-pole filter, getting close to that squelchy sound we need. My efforts so far: <br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AflpXbEIno" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=1AflpXbEIno</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/circuitpython" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>circuitpython</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/tb303" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tb303</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/synthdiy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>synthdiy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/raspberrypipico" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>raspberrypipico</span></a></p>
craque is icumen in 🏳️‍🌈<p>Testing was a success! No magic smoke. The rewired knobs are all operational, I sent a sawtooth wave through and a distorted version came out the other end. That's all I wanted.</p><p>I was worried about the footswitch not being wired, hoping it works by making a connection to ground since there's only one pad for the switch on any of these old pedals. In other words it "fails closed" if there is no switch, defaulting to sending the signal through the distortion circuit.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/SynthDIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SynthDIY</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/craque" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>craque</span></a></p>
