Obasav<p>I switched to Linux</p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@LPI" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>LPI</span></a></span> <br><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/UpgradeToLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UpgradeToLinux</span></a> <br><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/LPI25" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LPI25</span></a> <br><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/switchtolinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>switchtolinux</span></a></p>
aaron ~# :blinkingcursor:<p># Switching to <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> was the best decision of my life, and i'm not exaggerating. </p><p>I've learned more in the past four years than in seven years of using <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>windows</span></a>. What i've learned is valuable and useful. And i regret nothing but that i didn't switch earlier.</p><p>Switching to linux doesn't have to be fun. It will be exhausting, time consuming and frustrating at most times. And this is exactly what you should want.</p><p>Trying, breaking and fixing things are essential parts of your learning process. Daily driving linux is a daily learning experience. </p><p>I have a <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/learningdisorder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>learningdisorder</span></a> which made me feel useless to the <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/IT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IT</span></a> industry. This year i had an internship which changed that completely. My <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/impostersyndrome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>impostersyndrome</span></a> and doubts are gone. And i can't even describe how good this feels. </p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/switchtolinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>switchtolinux</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/switchedtolinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>switchedtolinux</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/it" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>it</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/career" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>career</span></a></p>
Florian<p>Seeing reports that the installer in <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a> 42 has regressed where <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>accessibility</span></a> is concerned. Haven't tested this but given the track record of most <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> distributions over the last few decades it wouldn't surprise me in the least. This is also why people can't always just <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/switchToLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>switchToLinux</span></a>. The day distros don't just preach their a system for the people and that everyone should be able to use it, but actually walk the walk and consistently walk the walk is when I might consider giving switching more time and attention. Until then, I'd rather deal with the devil I know</p>
Paolo Amoroso<p>A step by step guide for migrating from Windows 10 to Linux Mint Cinnamon. It's a good overview of how to install and set up Mint, regardless of migrations from other operating systems.</p><p><a href="https://www.reallinuxuser.com/windows-10-is-ending-how-to-switch-from-windows-10-to-linux-mint-in-10-easy-steps" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">reallinuxuser.com/windows-10-i</span><span class="invisible">s-ending-how-to-switch-from-windows-10-to-linux-mint-in-10-easy-steps</span></a></p><p><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Windows10" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows10</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/SwitchToLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SwitchToLinux</span></a></p>

One thing I noticed on one of the fora, is that <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> users are reporting a much more stable experience than Windows users. One person even compared both OS's on the same system.</p><p>If anyone needed just one more reason to <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/SwitchToLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SwitchToLinux</span></a>, there it is 😉.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/gamingonlinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamingonlinux</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/linuxgaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linuxgaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/game" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>game</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/TheElderScrolls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TheElderScrolls</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/ElderScrolls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ElderScrolls</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/oblivion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oblivion</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/oblivionremastered" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oblivionremastered</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nl/tags/rpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rpg</span></a></p>
