Imagine giving your child a whole bunch of substances, without knowing, how each affects them individually, how sensitive they are to that substance, how those substances might interact and who may be unable to articulate how they are/feel affected and who can't refuse.

This is a form of abuse and people would care much more about it, if "normal human" children would be affected, instead of disabled "defective objects".

Why are these supplements packaged this way? There are only 30 capsules in this big honking container. It's full only up to my thumbnail in the second image. To make it even worse, black plastic isn't recyclable in most cities. It ends up in the landfill and/or the water. If I could find a more ethical and affordable way to get these supplements, I would.

The third image compares two bottles of the same sort of supplement. They both come with the same number of capsules, and the smaller bottle is still twice the size it needs to be.

I take these to help combat exhaustion from long COVID. It has been helping. Before I started taking my suitcase full of supplements, I was unable to walk more than ten minutes or so without being completely exhausted. Now I can walk for a couple of hours without being destroyed. #supplements #waste #packaging #LongCovid #recovery

Question for my #fitness buddies who take creatine

Do you usually supplement every day or only on workout days? (Like, would you skip a dose if you’re not working out)

Creatine gives me a serious boost if I take 5g before exercise, but I never take it on rest days. I was recently told that I should take it every day, and especially on rest days, to promote muscle recovery.

Was I doing this wrong?

A Clinician’s Evidence-Based Guide to Supplements by Grant Cooper et al eds.

Currently, there is no single, easy-to-use reference for a physician to access to learn about the evidence behind different common supplements. This text fills that gap by allowing physicians to be able to educate themselves and their patients about important supplements in terms of what the data actually says about those supplements...
