Despite the lack of posts about it, I love to #knit, and I REALLY love to #spin (the yarn making kind) - sourcing Canadian wool has been a huge part of that love. Ever heard of Campaign for Wool Canada? I wrote to them and they sent me a bunch of information & booklets to help teach the benefits of using Canadian wool.

@undead vibes and creative interpretations. Let's leave gaping holes in defining language so the oracle of 9 must be consulted to enumerate an arc of intentions. Turn it into a bag of 6, now every card's a winner. Surprise, dealer wins again. I know what would happen to me if my job was to write policy and procedure only to convey incoherent nonsense. What it must be like, struttin' like a cluck.

ANYONE ELSE NOTICE the latest #Spin defending #DonnieDumbass' #BSC Admin nominees AND his #Tariff Ideas?

..."They are simply negotiating tactics" (He KNOWS these moves are bad, but the goal is to scare his enemies into agreeing to more "reasonable" choices.)

STOP #SANEWASHING THIS STUPID #SoB. He's not a genius or "playing 3D chess". HE'S A BELLIGERENT CHILD who has NO IDEA what he's doing, and backs down when enough people explain to him HOW BAD his ideas are. 🤬 🤦‍♂️

"For men like me, spin is hard. Not just the workout, but the vulnerability: letting go of competition and leaning into the group, a dying of self so the room can revive."

"Memories" is a song by American band #Maroon5, released through 222 and #InterscopeRecords on September 20, 2019, as the lead single from the band's seventh studio album #Jordi (2021). Lyrically, the song pays homage to the memories of a loved one who has since passed. The song divided critics, with many panning its production but others calling it "sweet". It was listed as one of the worst songs of 2019 by #Spin magazine.

There is no "the media."

There is no "Main Stream Media."

Every time I hear those terms, I ignore what follows.

Stereotypes and generalities are almost always false or at least oversimplification.

There is THIS medium. THAT medium. Evaluate them independently.

A sizable percent of what people call "the media" are actually advocacy platforms only pretending to be unbiased.

True journalists are dedicated to telling the truth, not spin.

Sometimes it is individuals, but more often it is corporate policy to slant "the news." Or shill sites that exist only for political persuasion.

But many consumers are not accomplished at telling the difference between persuasion and journalism focused on the truth.

If you must talk about "the media" name the names you are talking about.

In light of yesterday's events, anyone interested in the scientific way that optics/framing are managed by political campaigns, if you've not seen the 1986 movie Power (with Richard Gere Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington, and other greats), I think you might enjoy it. The tech and timing for spin control have since changed, but the basic ideas persist.

I think it's available for streaming from YouTube and others.

I am preparing a #museum workshop for children about different #fabrics and #culturalHeritage.

I would like to show them #nature: What #animals do you know that #spin #threads / #fabrics or ‘cut fabrics’? Spontaneously I can think of: #spiders, #butterflies, #moths (silkworms), leaf-cutter #ants

edit: Thanks a million for your wonderful inspirations! It will not only be great for children but also for a later summer podcast episode! I am so amazed by all these skills in the animal kingdom.
