I prefer an <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/emulationStation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>emulationStation</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RetroArch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetroArch</span></a> frontend that just boots to a list of games. I'm sick of configuring inputs for every system I want to play. A handheld should be pick up and play.</p>

TECC :archlinux:<p>I’m trying to play the <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/FrontMission" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FrontMission</span></a> (Japan) <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ROM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ROM</span></a> with the English fan translation patch. 🅴🆁🆄🅰 🇷🇺Кстати, про онлайн-эмуляторы для ретрогейминга в браузере. Попался <a href="https://megadrive-emulator.com/platform-game/zool" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">такой вариант</a> заточенный под эмуляцию SEGA MegaDrive (она же SEGA Genesis).<br><br> • может работать через WebGL;<br> • доступны два ядра эмуляторов;<br> • есть основные шейдеры;<br> • можно крутить настройки ядра;<br> • управление скоростью эмуляции;<br> • есть сохранение состояния.<br><br>Может оказаться неплохим вариантом для развлечения или демонстрации, когда нет желания на каком-то из компов или планшетов разводить суету с установкой RetroArch, ядер эмуляторов, поиском и загрузкой ROM'ов.<br><br>Однако, не без изъянов:<ul><li> хорошо работает в Chrome / Chromium, а в том же Firefox периодически похрипывает аудио, может надо uBlock отключить, может ещё что;</li><li> в полноэкранном режиме неправильные пропорции у картинки, не 10:7, не 4:3, а что-то непонятное.</li></ul><br>По ссылке на эмулятор должна открываться оригинальная игра Zool, по ряду признаков видно, что ROM для NTSC-региона, потому весьма динамичное. Anarch, Ardens (Arduboy), Beetle PC-FX (NEC - PC-FX), bsnes-jg (Nintendo - SNES/SFC), Doukutsu-rs (Cave Story), Holani (Atari - Lynx), Mr.Boom, NooDS (Nintendo - DS), Opera (The 3DO Company - 3DO), and Yabause (Sega - Saturn) - The default overlay tries to adapt to the system for the content (e.g. the NES overlay looks like an NES controller). You can always override the overlay. - Microphone input using SDL2. Using the SDL2 microphone driver requires using the SDL2 audio driver. - Screen recording and streaming using ffmpeg - Cloud sync for saves can use iCloud as a backend. Also, there are new options to select what to sync. - Better external mouse and trackpad support - Improve some of the touch controls for the ozone menu driver. It did manage to find some <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Roms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Roms</span></a> and I got it to play <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CrazyTaxi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CrazyTaxi</span></a> 2. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EmulationStation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmulationStation</span></a> still doesn't see any games though, so I think that may be the wrong way to do it.</p>

🧿🪬🍄🌈🎮💻🚲🥓🎃💀🏴🛻🇺🇸<p>I just downloaded the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/1g1r" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>1g1r</span></a> for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PS1" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PS1</span></a> and I'm just now figuring out the PS1 core settings in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/retroarch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retroarch</span></a>. I never owned a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Playstation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Playstation</span></a> so I don't know what these games are supposed to look like. The geometry jiggling is super annoying so I'm glad the core can correct that.
