#americans are fucking stupid

they treat #voting as a joke

americans are removed from the consequences of living under #autocracy and #fascism, unlike other places that understand the stakes

#alienated and #entitled on a topic that will *personally* harm them, no need for glorious appeals to #society and #responsibility

they need to learn to fucking #vote

or not vote for their own impoverishment and rights removal under #bigotry and #plutocracy

they will learn

the hard way

fucking morons

"Five years after the start of the worst health crisis in living memory, there is a national conversation waiting to be had about the roles of the individual, society and the state in such a crisis. What is my responsibility to myself and to my community, and what is the responsibility of the state towards us? At each level there is room for improvement, but we’re not addressing it. Let’s hope we can have that conversation before we’re tested again, but first the more strident – and misguided – voices have to pipe down."

@fsinn @human3500 @gemelliz

Since COVID, it seems we've lost our minimum bar: there are no parameters to define acceptable behavior anymore.

A lot / enough of society thinks whack-a-doos like this are some form of "normal". They're not! 🤪

In the movie Ryan's Daughter, Michael, a man from the village and played superbly by John Mills, was an honest genuine soul that understood respect, in spite of all his challenges. A novel concept for many these days ...

Canadian politics isn't about who gets to play banker and real estate agent and he/she who bankrupts all the other players is the winner. It's about making a level playing field for all as we help those in need.

I only just started this book but I fucking love it. Please read. Thank.

osupress.oregonstate.edu/book/

but no srsly, thank you for considering it. It feels like talking to a friend who Knows how fucked up your family is.

You've been away for a while, so you're shielded from the worst of their damaging tantrums, but uncompromising bare facts of the situation still sober you up somehow.

osupress.oregonstate.eduIndigenous Critical Reflections on Traditional Ecological Knowledge | OSU PressWith more than fifty contributors, Indigenous Critical Reflections on Traditional Ecological Knowledge offers important perspectives by Indigenous Peoples on Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Indigenous value systems. The book aims to educate and inspire readers about the importance of decolonizing how Indigenous Knowledges are considered and used outside of Native communities. By including the work of Indigenous storytellers, poets, and scholars from around the globe, editor Lara Jacobs and chapter authors effectively explore the Indigenous value systems—relationships, reciprocity, and responsibility—that are fundamental to Indigenous Knowledge systems and cultures. Indigenous languages and positionality statements are featured for each of the contributors to frame their cultural and geographical background and to allow each Indigenous voice to lead discussions and contribute critical discourse to the literature on Indigenous Knowledges and value systems. By creating space for each of these individual voices, this volume challenges colonial extraction norms and highlights the importance of decolonial methods in understanding and protecting Indigenous Knowledges. Indigenous Critical Reflections on Traditional Ecological Knowledge is an essential resource for students, academics, members of Tribal, state, and federal governments, Indigenous communities, and non-Indigenous allies as well as a valuable addition to environmental and Indigenous studies collections.   Contributors include: Melinda M. @sandwich

i never understood #contentWarning #politics

i understand avoiding politics for peace of mind and #mentalHealth

but that's a #personal #responsibility

politics affects your life. you are engaged with its effects, whether you like it or not

that means politics is absolutely unavoidably for general consumption

the #content of the entire #fediverse cannot bend to satisfy the personal needs of some on this topic

it just can't

and frankly, it's rather #entitled to think otherwise

@RonSupportsYou @me

100% disagree

you can't work with #toxicidealism

either you are dealing with someone who understands social #responsibility

or you are dealing with an entitled fool who just keeps moving the goalpost

there is always some other issue they can whine about to excuse themselves

in truth they don't even care about #gaza

they care about making excuses to detach themselves from a broken world

unfortunately, they live in reality

they will feel the effects of their impotency

The #media in democratic countries have the freedom they wouldn't have in autocracies.

That freedom, like all freedom, comes with #responsibility

Yet the media amplifies #autocrats who are against that #freedom

E.g. there's barely any addresses by our democratically elected European leaders as they meet this week. You'll struggle to find a livestream of #Zelenskyy's interview to the press.

But multiple media outlets live-stream war criminal #Putin's yearly address & "interview" to the #press
