RhyothemisI need to get a new range. For over 20 yrs I've been using a range with glass cooktop - and I've always hated it. Or at least I think I hate it. Maybe I'm just remembering electric coils as being easier to deal with since life was relatively easier when I lived in apartments and I didn't have to cook for anyone except myself. My issue with glass is that if a pot boils over, there's nowhere for it to go. If it boils over on coils there's the little catch pan beneath and it's easy enough to clean after the cooking is done.
