Perhaps one of the more sublime things I have found when looking up #radiocarbon lab information is that Humble Oil (which was absorbed into what is now Exxon in 1959) started one of the first radiocarbon labs. One of their original goals was to measure the rise in CO2 in the atmosphere due to burning fossil fuels, a study they published in 1957.
