🔏 Matthias Wiesmann<p>Took advantage of the long week-end to make a new release of my personal project: QuickDraw viewer, a tool to visualise and convert QD images used on old Macintosh computer into something modern like PDF or PNG. </p><p>This was mostly a maintenance release, switching to Swift 6 and adding the relevant synchronisation annotations. It's far from perfect but it works. I also improved the localisation, and some the documentation.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/quickdraw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>quickdraw</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swift</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosx</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://github.com/wiesmann/QuickDrawViewer" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/wiesmann/QuickDrawV</span><span class="invisible">iewer</span></a></p>

Nancytried to quickdraw an axolotl. love this little creatures. I'm not good ad drawing quick 'cause I'm just way to focused in details instead of modelling the figure with simple forms and slowly working them out. But I keep practicing. <br> So this was not that quckily done. I like how the face turned out, but the belly got way to dark. <br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/axolotl?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#axolotl</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/animaldrawing?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#animaldrawing</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/quickdraw?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#quickdraw</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/practice?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#practice</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/üben?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#üben</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/polychromos?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#polychromos</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/zeichnen?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#zeichnen</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/mastoart?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#mastoart</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/art?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#art</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/sketch?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#sketch</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/pencildrawing?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#pencildrawing</a>

Bruce MacDonald<p>Go ahead. Take a look at the source code of Bill Atkinson's MacPaint and QuickDraw.</p><p>'MacPaint was written by Bill Atkinson, who was a member of the original Macintosh development team. He based it on his earlier LisaSketch (also called SketchPad) for the unsuccessful Apple Lisa computer, so he originally called it MacSketch. He started work on the Mac version in early 1983.</p><p>'Atkinson also created Quickdraw first for the Lisa, as LisaGraf. Andy Hertzfeld, another key member of the team, considers QuickDraw “the single most significant component of the original Macintosh technology” in its ability to “push pixels around in the frame buffer at blinding speeds to create the celebrated user interface.”'</p><p><a href="https://computerhistory.org/blog/macpaint-and-quickdraw-source-code/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">computerhistory.org/blog/macpa</span><span class="invisible">int-and-quickdraw-source-code/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/MeaningfulLabor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MeaningfulLabor</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/ComputerHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ComputerHistory</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/QuickDraw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>QuickDraw</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/MacPaint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacPaint</span></a></p>
