The #SpaceX mission control outage knocked out mission headquarters, disabling the ability of operators to send commands or perform controls that would normally be standard during a spacecraft's mission. It happened sometime before the Sept. 12 #spacewalk and at least one hour passed before power was restored. Had mission control remained offline, the #astronauts had enough training to control the spacecraft themselves. reuters.com/technology/space/p

Good afternoon. It's 4PM, Thursday, 12th September. The headlines: #SpaceX has achieved the first all-civilian spacewalk on its Polaris Dawn mission, backed by billionaire Jared Isaacman. Sir Keir Starmer says the NHS is 'broken but not beaten'. Swing state electorates are increasingly targeted in the US elections. #PolarisDawn #BBC #News

I'm a massive fan of all things Space but I cannot rustle up any interest in some billionaire doing a spacewalk....and surviving.

I have no sympathy for these people at all, they are parasites making all our lives miserable for their greed, the suit could tear and I wouldn't care.

It's like watching a billionaire pay to score the winning goal in a football match, it's just empty.

Congratulations to #polarisdawn for reaching heights never seen in fifty years - the first women to travel 1400km from Earth, the first crew to travel past the ISS in 50 years, the first crew to perform an EVA above the ISS ever.

What an incredible moment for humanity and more importantly, science.

What an incredible sight.
