Brad Linder<p>The Core 2 Duo smartwatch (basically a modern version of the Pebble watch) will be powered by an nrRF52840 chip, but the Core Time 2 will use a newer, higher-performance SiFli SF32LB52J chip. <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/CoreDevices" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CoreDevices</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Smartwatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Smartwatch</span></a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umQ39BhcyMM" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=umQ39BhcyM</span><span class="invisible">M</span></a></p>
John Wilker 👨🏽‍💻<p>My new/old Pebble 2's buttons gave up the ghost. So I ordered replacements. It's no longer waterproof but I rarely go into water. It was a fun little project to remove all the old rubber and glue these little fellas on. </p><p>This one has more robust BT than the Color I also own, so it's still fairly reliable as a smart watch.</p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/watches" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>watches</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pebble</span></a></p>
Brad Linder<p>Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky gives an update on and first look at the Core 2 Duo smartwatch (modern Pebble with slightly updated hardware &amp; open source PebbleOS software), as well as a bit of tariff talk, and its impact on prices. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCI7N70tNRE" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=UCI7N70tNR</span><span class="invisible">E</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/CoreDevices" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CoreDevices</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Smartwatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Smartwatch</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Core2Duo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Core2Duo</span></a></p>

Seth Galitzer<p>This makes me exceptionally happy: <a href="https://store.repebble.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">store.repebble.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br>I went through three <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pebble</span></a> watches, using them until they fell apart, and was extremely disappointed when the company went under. They did precisely everything I wanted in a smart watch, no fluff or useless features. I never wanted a health monitoring device or something that did everything my phone did, just a tool that was a remote extension of my phone. I'm excited and optimistic about the newly revived effort.</p>
kelbot ◖⎚∠⎚◗<p>Ahhh, so they put out some more detailed info on the new <a href="https://retro.social/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> watches. It turns out that the Core 2 Duo model is going to be literally the Pebble 2. Like they found a supplier that still had stock of most of the parts from the original Pebble 2. Unfortunately this means the issue with the buttons falling apart will still be a thing. Though they say they have made a slight tweak to improve their durability a little.</p>

Janet Vertesi<p>I am still, to this day, faithfully wearing my <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pebble</span></a>. Also unbeatable battery life, even a decade on.</p><p>I love my Pebbles and I am so thrilled it to see this project BACK when we need it most!</p><p><a href="https://ericmigi.com/blog/introducing-two-new-pebbleos-watches" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ericmigi.com/blog/introducing-</span><span class="invisible">two-new-pebbleos-watches</span></a></p>
