Tommaths (he/him)<p>This doesn't cover <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/octagon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>octagon</span></a> which also seems to have a different colloquial <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/definition" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>definition</span></a> to it's official one. It could probably be argued that "hexagon" and "octagon" are interchangeable (colloquially), but I feel that "octagon" is more often applied to polyhedra, so maybe an "octagon" is a 3D hexagon, colloquially?</p>
